lasts nights critical mass ride was the raddest i`ve ever been on.it was mostly peaceful, but the cnn report here that BW posted is also true: http://cnn.netscape.cnn.com/news/story.jsp?floc=FF-APO-PLS&idq=/ff/story/0001/20040828/0627542632.htm
but that didn`t happen till way later- while we were riding all over manhattan things were great and there were no disruptions. there were thousands of us. way later when people didn`t dispurse and when a cycle cop accidently rode over a biker... things got messier. they also blocked off all the west going streets with city buses later in the evening. after getting dinner and drinks after the ride i went to check out the mayhem and i saw some people in paddy wagons and the saddest of all - bikes on top of seized bikes in a huge truck.
the ride that i was a part of was great - it was much longer than usual and went all over the place - up through times square - by madison garden - up madison - across houston - through both the west and east village... up 7th ave. just all over the place, it was great.
lotsa bikes:

the flag backdrop is most appropriate....

paul revere rides again and i love his tatoo

decent into times square

watching in times square

bad shot of the pile of seized bikes in the wagon

saw them for the second time last night at irving plaza.
so good live, recommended to all.
these images aren't cleaned up at all... and are of fairly low quality - they are just some shots from the political art show i went to last night and the zine library at abc no rio... so here are some of the great posters i saw... i was inspired and i hope you will be too...
